Miyazaki Prefecture has created the "Miyazaki Honkaku Shochu Taste Map," which shows at a glance the characteristics of 74 brands of sweet potato shochu from 27 breweries in the prefecture, in an effort to increase consumption and awareness of shochu produced in the prefecture. While there have been precedents for sake and awamori, this is the first shochu map by prefecture in Japan.

The prefecture spent eight years creating a map that visualizes the characteristics of 74 types of sweet potato shochu produced in the prefecture

In an effort to increase consumption and awareness of shochu produced in the prefecture, the prefecture, with the cooperation of the Prefectural Sake Brewers Association (Chairman: Shinichiro Watanabe, President of Kyoya Sake Brewery), is promoting the unique characteristics of 74 brands of sweet potato shochu from 27 breweries in the prefecture.
