There seems to be a redevelopment plan for the area from Akabane Elementary School to JR Akabane Station, including Marumasuya and Maruken Suisan. The area is being redeveloped by dividing it into "District 1," "District 2," and "District 3" in Akabane 1-chome, and the redevelopment of District 1 is almost certain.

◎On September 29th, 2023, the founding promoters of the Akabane 1-chome First District Urban Redevelopment Association submitted an application for approval to establish an urban redevelopment association to the Mayor of Kita Ward (with a request to forward it to the Governor of Tokyo), and on October 16th, 2023, the Mayor of Kita Ward submitted an application for approval to establish an urban redevelopment association to the Governor of Tokyo. ◎The Akabane 1-chome First District Urban Redevelopment Association is scheduled to be established during fiscal year 2023.
◎The facility building (redevelopment building) is scheduled to be completed in June 2029.
It seems that they are also working on the "Second District" where Maruken Suisan is located, and the "Third District" where Marumasuya and Wakadaisho are located.
