You can choose between Hoppy from a barrel or Hoppy from Chugai, and Housen doesn't have the black one. I'll have their specialty Hoppy from a barrel (580 yen)!

The Hoppy mug is poured without any measurement, right up to the third star from the bottom of the Big Dipper (usually it's somewhere between the first and second stars), and because of its hardness, you can only order up to three of this hard drink.

I started off safe with the chive and egg dish (330 yen) in search of something mild.

It seems they sometimes have stew and sometimes don't, but no matter how many times I come here, I've never been able to find it. Today there's no stew either, so I'll just have one and settle for Niku Tofu (390 yen).

Hoppy as a chaser?!

I ordered another draft Hoppy and then a small non-alcoholic draft Hoppy (250 yen) as a chaser. Is there anywhere else where you can drink like this?

Yawarime

Yawarime (490 yen) is a dish that resembles dried squid marinated in sauce and grilled, and is the best match for sake in the history of squid. Please give me one last draft Hoppy!

The bill

I wanted to finish off with a hot sake called Shirataka that was right in front of me, but the draft Hoppy was getting to me and I couldn't get there.

However, the great thing about this establishment is that there is a three-drink limit. Tateishi and Akabane also have rules and restrictions, and the staff will make sure you don't drink too much. They will also teach you how to drink properly, taking into consideration your health and the inconvenience to other customers. This is a truly famous establishment!
