Currently, the proprietress is the only one in charge of everything from preparation to sales and cleanup at this friendly bar. At first glance, she doesn't seem to communicate with customers, but she is the ideal tsundere proprietress, politely answering any questions.
A refined menu
The appetizer menu is yakitori only. The basic course is eight skewers of chicken and pork belly rolls, making it a perfect first stop.
The appetizers are two palate cleansers, the standard at any yakitori restaurant: grated daikon radish and pickles. These are the kind of appetizers you'll find at yakitori specialty restaurants, such as Miyagawa, a famous yakitori restaurant in Yaesu, to fully enjoy the yakitori.

First, we start with the rolls. Each roll is made with shiso leaves, garlic sprouts, and okra, and they are all brought out with perfect timing.

Next up is the chicken section. Classic dishes such as meatballs, liver, sabiyaki (chicken fillet with wasabi), chicken skin, and chicken wings are served at just the right time.

They were only open for about three hours, and on this day the counter was full at the opening and didn't rotate again, closing just after 9pm. I ended up having a lively conversation with them and stayed until the end, even helping out with the closing up.
This is where Torihana's true talent shines.
After the shop curtain is down, the proprietress will treat the customers to a bottle of beer, or even suggest going for a drink in Golden Gai and going to one of her favorite bars afterwards. You can spend a fun time with the proprietress, who is free from work.
