My favorite walking route in Nagoya is the Toko Line. After some research, I discovered that until about 50 years ago, a streetcar ran from JR Hotta Station to Tsurumai Park. Now that I think about it, the streetscape and atmosphere of the area are dotted with abandoned shops and liquor stores, clearly showing traces of the area's former prosperity.

There's a long, U-shaped counter and a spacious tatami room on the left that can accommodate a large number of people. And yes, that billowing smoke! Your body is bathed in the smoke that seems to have the same blessings as Zenkoji Temple.

There are three types of seasonings: basic (miso), sauce, salt, and ginger. My personal recommendation is "Leave the flavor to us."

Nagoya's specialty, tonchan, is a must-order signature dish. Raw large intestine and tripe are drenched in a generous amount of sauce, which is not too sweet and has just the right amount of seasoning, even for those who aren't from Aichi Prefecture. In any case, make sure to dip tonchan in the sauce and enjoy!

Mino

This dish is also seasoned with sauce. It is a wild animal dish where you alternate between eating pork and beef stomach. The difference between pork and beef is that the more you chew beef, the more flavor it releases!

Komekami & Lemon Sour

This is also a must-try, and I eat the cheeks with ginger soy sauce. I'm used to eating cheeks, but the simple seasoning of ginger and soy sauce feels fresh! I want to try it at a barbecue!

Pair it with a refreshing lemon sour from Chukyo Bottled! Local bottled carbonated drinks are so cute!

Beef throat & tea

This is my personal favorite cut, known as Hatsumoto or Korikori. It's something I always order when I go to Nakanobu Tadaya or Ebisu Nawanoren. Apparently it's sometimes available and sometimes not, so this is my third time here! Lucky me!

We finish off with a strong, swamp-like tea drink.

The sauce and ginger should be mixed in as much as possible, and the sauce should be just right until it's gone. The first place was very satisfying, including the smell of grilled meat that permeated my T-shirt! Heading south along the Toei Line, we headed to the second place,Doteno Shinagawa"fart!
