The deadline for applications for the 21st Whisky Examination, which will be held in September 2025, is fast approaching. Payments via convenience store, bank transfer, and Pay-easy are accepted until August 21st, and credit card payments are accepted until August 28th.
The test can be taken at home and there are three types available: Level 3, Level 2, and Japanese Craft Whisky (JC). If you apply for multiple levels, you will receive a 10% discount on the test fee.
All test takers will receive an original coaster made from environmentally friendly cork. Designed by printmaker Tomoko Watanabe, two designs will be randomly selected: an otter design in the cove of the Laphroaig Distillery in Scotland, and a porpoise design with the Bruichladdich Distillery in the background. The coaster will be shipped in September along with the test kit. Official textbooks, yearbooks, and question books are also available for purchase at bookstores and online. The total number of applicants has exceeded 32,000.
