[Blog/syupo] Ichinoseki's Japanese-style restaurant Shochiku, beloved by Ei Rokusuke, a hundred-year-old restaurant. Stop off along the way to try their famous eel bowl.
Ichinoseki is the gateway to southern Iwate Prefecture, where the Tohoku Shinkansen stops. It's a town with a unique culture, with many music fans visiting the world-famous jazz cafe "Basie." Shochiku, a Japanese-style restaurant located in front of the station, is a long-established establishment that has witnessed the town's history. Attracted by their specialty sauce katsudon (pork cutlet bowl), a favorite of Naga Rokusuke himself, and traditional eel dishes, I stepped inside.
