Yamaga Distillery in Yamaga City, Kumamoto Prefecture will begin producing Kumamoto Prefecture's first single malt Japanese whiskey, "Yamaga The First" will be released nationwide.
This whiskey, aged for over three years, complies with the Japan Spirits and Spirits Makers Association's "Japanese Whisky Labeling Standards." Its distinctive flavor is a sweet, fragrant financier-like mouthfeel, followed by the fruity notes of pear compote and the pleasant bitterness of bitter chocolate. Its volume is 700ml, its alcohol content is 581 TP4T, its suggested retail price is 14,850 yen (tax included), and its sales volume is 8,600 bottles. The Yamaga Distillery was completed in November 2021, and the distillery produces whiskey that reflects the nature and culture of Yamaga, with the theme of "feminine elegance and dignified strength."
