Kagoshima 2025 Shochu General Election
Minami Kyushu Sake Hanbai in Kagoshima City is trying to get a wide range of generations interested in shochu as a first attempt.Kagoshima 2025 Shochu General Election” will be held at Center Terrace Tenmonkan on October 3rd.
81 sweet potato brands and 17 brown sugar brands from 98 breweries in the prefecture are "candidates." Participants will sample shochu, which are provided with numbers without revealing their names, and vote for their favorite from the sweet potato and brown sugar varieties.
The top three brands for sweet potato and brown sugar will be announced on the company's website at a later date. Participation is 500 yen, and the event will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Artwork personifying the prefecture's alcoholic beverages will also be on display at the venue. This is your chance to find your own "favorite shochu."
