A 400m shopping street known as "Western Hoppy Street" that connects Akitsu Station on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line and JR Shin-Akitsu.
It's not as densely packed with bars as the tourist spot Hoppy Street in Asakusa, but it's dotted with stylish, independently owned establishments that give it a real, cool feel. If you like bars, this is the place to be.

As soon as you leave the station, you'll be greeted by a two-story office building. The great thing about this shopping street is that it instantly turns on your drinking switch. By the way, when you get off at Akitsu Station on the Seibu Line, Yakitori Nojima will turn on that switch for you. Both are the two top restaurants supporting the "Western Hoppy Street"!
As I wait for the store to open, I notice a notice of closure posted on the door.

In addition to the entrance on the Shin-Akatsu Station rotary side, there is also an entrance on the back side, and customers come in constantly from both the front and the back. The interior is an unusual counter that surrounds the entire store in a concave shape. The store's design, which you won't see anywhere else, is always fresh and makes you want to look around.
Black Hoppy
Black Hoppy made with Ibaraki's Meiri-ko shochu. Like Harukoma and Motsuya, both in Akitsu, they serve it in Hoppy tumblers and mugs, which is a nice touch.
Stewed offal
"Motsu-ni" is a winter dish. It is a basic miso stew made with small and large intestines and pork belly, as well as root vegetables such as burdock, daikon radish, and carrots, and konjac.
We will enjoy what will probably be the last stew.
Burn the last salaryman into my memory
I usually sit on the left side of the "凹" character, but today I sat on the lower side for the first time. There are a few counter seats I haven't tried yet, but every seat is a comfortable one for regulars, with a spectacular 360-degree panoramic view. When I left after 5pm, I noticed that the "凹" character was almost full with older men.
Another famous bar, Salaryman Kumegawa, which closed five years ago, also closed on the same day, December 29th.
