Gotanda "Sakataya"
The name contains the character for "sake."
Just the name of the shop makes you curious.
Located near the popular Gotanda bar Kanemasa, the restaurant's exterior draws you in with its cool noren curtain and neon sign. The aroma of a famous restaurant wafts through the gaps in the sliding doors.

Once inside, an ideal view unfolds before your eyes, with the office workers who likely work nearby enjoying themselves in a refined atmosphere.
The seafood-focused menu consists of a grand menu and the recommended menu of the day.
Bottled beer and appetizer
Start with a medium bottle of Super Dry beer and an appetizer of tuna with yam.

The small appetizer dish was as expected. The sticky texture of the tuna gave me a strong first jab.
I was just thinking I wanted to eat a little bit of tuna, so this appetizer was a welcome treat.
Marinated mackerel
Since I was able to find tuna, I chose my favorite marinated mackerel without hesitation from the main menu.

As expected, the marinated mackerel is a dish that supports Sakataya and is worthy of being included on the year-round main menu.
As you carefully savor each piece of lightly cured, thickly cut, and center-cured mackerel, you'll find yourself craving some sake.
Grilled Mexicali
From the daily seasonal recommended menu, I ordered my favorite, grilled salted Mexicali.

I bite into the whole fish, head first, like a black bass preying on something. The small but fluffy Mexicali is packed with flavor! The perfect amount of salt will have you in the mood for sake!
cold sake
I received Gen no Funauta from Yamagata Prefecture at room temperature.

Once we had the remaining Mexicali and marinated mackerel and everything was ready, it was time to pay!
word used after one has been treated (esp. used after a meal)
I would like to use this bar when I want to have a quiet drink by myself or when I want to have a nice drink with other adults! Thank you for the meal!
