On the way back from Haneda Airport, when I feel like stopping off for a drink, I can think of several izakayas, such as Omori's "Tsutahachi," Tachiaigawa's "Torigata," and Shinagawa's "Mikasa." However, to broaden my options, I stopped off at Heiwajima's "Sansui" on my way to Haneda "before my flight." It's located halfway between Omori-Kaigan Station and Heiwajima Station, along Route 15, right next to the motorboat racecourse.

Heiwajima "Sansui"
The red lanterns give off a soft, appealing aura that makes you think, "Is that it?" even from a distance.
As soon as I entered, I was told, "Sorry, we've already finished eating, but it's fine if you want a drink."
At first glance, I was a little happy that I was seen as a playful man who eats set meals rather than a heavy-drinking old man, and I responded, "It's totally fine."
The inside of the store is bustling with older local men and women, creating the atmosphere of a typical bar.
Bottled beer
Start with a large bottle of Super Dry.

Start drinking with a small dish as a stretch.
Yamakake
I ordered grilled salted saury and nibbled on some tuna with grated yam while it was cooking.

Grilled sausages
This processed meat is loved by both children and adults! Dip a juicy grilled sausage in mustard and ketchup and pop it into your mouth.

The beautiful saury is finally cooked.
It seems that there will be a bumper catch of Japanese flying squid and Pacific saury this year, 2025, so I'd like to order some Pacific saury while it's still available! So tonight in late autumn, I'm enjoying some Pacific saury.
When I was playing with my smartphone...
Huh? ...Could it be...?
Oh no! I got the outbound flight time and the return flight time wrong!
In fact, it's already boarding time!
Just to be safe, I quickly down some saury and beer and ask for the bill.
*Therefore, there are no photos of saury.
word used after one has been treated (esp. used after a meal)
"Actually, you can eat saury much more beautifully than this!" I said, and was delighted to hear the words "It's beautiful enough! You should have told me that sooner!", and we dashed off to Heiwajima Station!

In the end, a kind JAL staff member secured for me a few empty seats on the last flight to New Chitose Airport.
I dispel the shock of missing a flight for the first time in my life with a Takara shochu highball.

Sansui in Heiwajima! Next time, I'll be sure to drop by after my flight!
