Koiwa "Fish Kei"
Located in a residential area of Koiwa, there is a local fish shop where locals come to get takeout sashimi.Fish Kei". The freshness and reasonable prices are reflected in the drinks served inside the shop, making this a representative "fish shop where you can drink" in Tokyo.

The second-generation head chef is in charge of filleting the fish, while the third-generation young head chef serves the dishes made with that fish. Both father and son are very friendly, making for a really nice combination.
The showcase visible from outside the store is lined with the "cool sashimi" of the day. The smart way to enjoy the store is to pick out what you want before entering.

Takarakan Chuhai
The two-tone silver and yellow Takara canned chuhai is sure to appeal to men born in the Showa era - in fact, it will appeal to any drinker.

They serve their drinks in cans, and at first glance it may seem like they don't put much effort into it, but what's really clever is that they stick to Takara cans for their chuhai drinks.
Golden horse mackerel sashimi
Golden horse mackerel sashimi selected from the display case. The bouncy texture and high-quality fat are the mark of a fishmonger's serious business.

Grilled red shrimp carpaccio
The saltiness is perfect, the shape is great, and the amount is just right for an old man's stomach.
Squeeze the lemon and lick it out of the tail.

If you take a bite without being stingy, the roasted aroma and the scent of the sea will fill your mouth, and it will be like a flower garden of happiness that you will feel it is a shame to swallow it.

Here, we shifted from chuhai drinks to Takara brand "tea cans."

"Fishmonger's Potato Salad" contains clams, smoked daikon radish, nametake mushrooms, onions, etc.

Liver pate
This luxurious dish contains a high proportion of chicken liver. When you eat it piled high on a Danish pastry, it melts in your mouth like a dream.

Ark shell sashimi
The horse mackerel was so delicious that I ordered some ark shell sashimi from the display case. From the string to the meat, it was a great value for money hit.

cold sake
To finish off the meal, we recommend a glass of chilled sake from Hyogo Prefecture, Japan's top producer of sake.

There's no need to wait long at this "fish shop where you can drink." I was in a good mood when I paid the bill. This is an evolved, long-established fish shop that's worth taking the train to visit, not only for locals, but even for a clumsy person like me!
