Morioka's corner bar
"The bar I had been planning to go to someday suddenly closed down, and I can't express how sorry I am."
Recently, many famous bars have been closing down all over the country, and I'm sure you've all experienced this common bar situation.
I've always wanted to go to Morioka's "Heiko Sake Shop" and "Hosoju Sake Shop."CompletelyThe second giant of the two. In 2023, Heiko Liquor Store closed, and I ended up not being able to go. I went to see Heiko Liquor Store, which had closed down, but it was already a vacant lot... How sad.

"Don't assume that your parents and famous stores will be around forever," they said, so we headed to Hososhige Sake Shop.

Even if you're not a bar fan, the majestic exterior is awe-inspiring, having been around for 130 years and exuding a powerful aura. The impressive sign, which you'll never forget once you've seen it, is far more impressive than it appears in photos. The sign is currently being looked after by the seventh-generation proprietress.

According to the proprietress, the shop had a license to manufacture alcoholic beverages and was producing alcohol in 1871 under the name "Hosoju Sake Shop." From there, it became a liquor store and never changed.Corner bar) and now we no longer supply alcohol to izakayas and only operate as a corner bar.

Interior
Not only is the exterior beautiful, but the inside is also amazing. The tatami room is furnished with low tables and well-worn furniture, and you can enjoy your drink in a space that feels like a movie set, where Tora-san might pop out at any moment.

It feels so warm, like someone is living there... and it turns out the landlady still lives on the second floor!

hot sake
The alcohol is a local drink called "Tsuki no Wa" and costs 280 yen per glass.

Drinking in this atmosphere makes even inexpensive alcohol feel like a rich, high-quality drink!

Previously, when there was a supermarket across the street, some people would bring in prepared food they bought there, spread it out inside the store, and drink in large quantities. It's quite tolerant, considering that Hososhige also sells canned and dried foods.

When his son was little, he hated the drunk people making noise on the first floor of his house (which is on the second floor) until late at night, so it's easy to imagine stories like that happening at this important cultural property bar. Although it's a bit far from Morioka Station, it's a power spot worth the walk!
