It seems that only a few people are allowed to catch it, and sometimes it is available and sometimes it is not. This soul food used to be eaten as a matter of course in Nago, where they used to drive fishermen into the bay. Gon-chan, which puts on a show at Churaumi Aquarium, is still eaten in Nago, and the culture of eating it in Nago still remains.

The stir-fry contains both red meat and white meat; the dark red meat has a particularly strong odor, while the white meat is fatty with a distinctive aroma.
