Ozone "Tsunekawa"
A liquor store where you can drink, a fish shop where you can drink, a supermarket where you can drink.
Just adding the word "drinking" to a common everyday establishment somehow makes it seem more appealing. If it's a traditional establishment, it's even more so, and you can't help but get excited and wonder, "Why can I drink alcohol here?" and "What kind of atmosphere can I drink in?"
So, we headed to Tsunekawa, a candy store in Ozone, Nagoya where you can drink.

Founded in 1975 (Showa 50), the restaurant was founded when the proprietress, who worked as a salesgirl for the Kintetsu Railway in Nara Prefecture, married a station attendant and moved to Nagoya.
With a love for business, he quit his job and, determined to start a restaurant with just one iron plate and a refrigerator, has been a popular restaurant in Ozone for half a century, with children coming home from school and adults coming after work to satisfy their hunger.

At the time, there was a candy store at the bottom of the hill, but it seems that Tsunekawa started selling candy after a regular customer said, "It's a pain to go up and down the hill, so please stock some candy as well."

Low-malt beer
It's an alcoholic drink that isn't on the menu, but if you ask, they'll bring you a long can of Nodogoshi Nama.

Yes! This happoshu is the only drink you can have!
Snack roll 180 yen
The popular "Snack Roll" menu allows you to choose your favorite flavor of Umaibo from the snack shelf and have it wrapped in egg batter on a hot plate.
I had them roll up some Umaibo Spicy Beef Curry Flavor, which I had never seen before.

There are also other original menu items using snacks, such as "Konjo-yaki" and "Mochi-don" which use the "Taratara Shitenjaneeyo" snack.
In the hands of the proprietress, cheap sweets are transformed into stylish snacks, using her expert techniques.
It has become a hot topic, with people saying it looks "eye-catching" and "interesting," and recently other teppanyaki restaurants have begun to copy it. It is a copyright-free signature dish.
Modern Okonomiyaki

Okonomiyaki is somewhere between Hiroshima-yaki and Osaka-yaki. It's light and easy to eat.

Grilled squid and beef tendon
From the appetizer menu, I ordered squid skewers and beef tendon skewers.

The fragrant soy sauce flavor stimulates the appetite and makes you want to enjoy the smooth taste of the noodles.
Landlady! Give me another bottle of Nodogoshi Nama!
word used after one has been treated (esp. used after a meal)
Local teppanyaki restaurants are loved by adult men who have been going there since they were children, as well as local elderly people. This style was once commonplace in Nagoya, but it seems to have become much less common now.
Tsunekawa also has no one to take over, and the proprietress said with a laugh, "I wonder what will happen in a few years."
Cheap snacks, teppanyaki, and low-malt beer.
It's a unique space that's worth the walk from the station!
