Shimokitazawa "Yocchan"
There are bars with suction power stronger than Dyson, Shark, and Makita dust collectors.
I thought about exploring new places in Shimokitazawa, but I always ended up being drawn to Yotchan.
It was closed for a while, so it's a reassuring underground paradise when you see the light on the sign on the first floor.

The most attractive feature is the price range that defies the wave of rising prices.
A large bottle of beer, which is a good measure, is 700 yen including tax, and a Hoppy set is 450 yen. What's particularly noteworthy is the value for money of the snacks. The menu starts at around 100 yen, which is great for solo drinkers.
Shitamachi Highball Shochu
The chuhai drinks are made with bottled carbonated drinks from Drink Nippon and cracked ice. It's a delicious "ball" made with attention to detail.

I was thirsty so I drank it in 2 minutes and then had a refill.

Fried wontons
From the regular menu, there's "Fried Wontons." What a bargain, with such a generous portion for just 200 yen!

This lean portion is perfect, as if it was made at home by a guy living alone.
Fatty tuna seaweed with green onions
From the whiteboard: "Negitoro Nori."

This level of satisfaction for just 450 yen? It's easy to get sucked in.
Cold sake and cheese
As it was the last order of food, I ordered smoked cheese and a cold drink of Nagano Prefecture's sake "Toyo-ka Nama Akiagari." I ended by enjoying the atmosphere in a relaxed, slow-down mode.

The combination of sake and cheese is more of a Japan-Italy friendship treaty than Neapolitan pasta.
word used after one has been treated (esp. used after a meal)
With this kind of presence, it has been around for 17 years since it was founded. It has aged well.
Yocchan tends to take weekends and long weekends as well. We hope that he will continue to work at his own pace, without putting a strain on his body, for as long as possible. And we hope that he will continue to inspire Shimokita's drinkers!
