Shin-Maebashi "Torimatsu"
Founded over half a century ago, Torimatsu is a local yakitori restaurant run by the second generation. They are not related by blood to the original owner, but the second generation took over the name and has been running the restaurant for about 10 years.

This yakitori restaurant has a traditional layout, with a counter made of fine tamo laminated wood that seats about eight people, and raised tatami rooms on the other side and in the back. Bustling with locals, with many bottles kept on the counter, it's clear from the moment you step inside that this is a place loved by locals.

Hoppy Black and appetizer
Hoppy is available in both white and black, and I chose the black. Served with a perfectly chilled soto and served in a proper Hoppy mug, it's a truly delicious drink that shows the love for Hoppy. This alone makes me think, "I'm glad I came here!"

Stewed offal
There was also a version with tofu, but I simply ordered the regular stewed offal.

A spicy stew made with large cuts of large intestine and half small intestine, and konjac. A uniquely Joshu style with a hint of ginger, it would go well with rice. Naturally, I didn't order rice, so instead, I drank Hoppy, which was incredibly delicious.
Yakitori
From the left: pork innards, medium fatty tuna, and gizzard shank. I ordered the flavor as I wanted, and they boldly served everything with salt.

Chutoro is the large intestine, commonly known as shiro. There are not many restaurants that serve shiro with salt, but just like the stew, they seem to have a lot of confidence in their shiro dishes.
word used after one has been treated (esp. used after a meal)
I had planned to drink a different drink, but the Hoppy Naka was a bit too strong, so I ended up having four refills of Hoppy Naka and saying thank you for the meal!

We had a great time at night in Shin-Maebashi!
