Blog

When you go to an exhibition for work or personal reasons, you may have trouble finding a bar on the way home. Big Sight, Makuhari Messe, and Pacifico Yokohama are all located on the seafront, and even if you look around, you won't find any popular bars.A bar stew worth taking the train to.Introducing!

Tokyo Big Sight (Tokyo International Exhibition Center)

Tokyo Big Sight, Japan's largest exhibition venue, is located in Ariake, Tokyo. To get there, take the Yurikamome or Rinkai Line.

Shinbashi "Delicious Tsu"

Take the Yurikamome line to Shinbashi. On the first floor of the building, you'll find Umai Tsu, a stew of four kinds of skewers: white tuna, honeycomb tripe, cheek meat, and tendon. They're also particular about their Hoppy, and the chef and his wife create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It might be a good idea to make a reservation.

Shinonome "Kikusui"

Kikusui is located between Shinonome Station on the Rinkai Line and Toyosu Station on the Yurikamome Line. Its unique layout, where customers sit around two large counters, is very cool. Their tuna sashimi and fried squid are popular dishes.

Tachiaigawa "Torikatsu"

Take the Rinkai Line and get off at Oimachi. Oimachi is also full of bars, but if you're feeling energetic, I recommend walking towards Tachiaigawa and trying the beef offal stew at Torikatsu. The delicious flavor of the beef offal fills your mouth and makes you feel happy.

Pacifico Yokohama

The closest station is Minatomirai Station on the Minatomirai Line, or walk to JR Sakuragicho Station. The Anpanman Museum is also nearby.

Noge "Hanamichi"

Walking towards Sakuragicho, you'll find Hanamichi, a standing bar located inside Pio City in Noge. Their pork offal stew includes small intestines, tripe, pork belly, and gizzard. The seafood is also delicious, making it the perfect pairing for a quick drink.

Takashimacho "Tokiwagi"

During the war, there were around 200 such establishments, but now Tokiwagi is a rare public bar. Each dish is reasonably priced, and it's a hidden gem, located far from Noge and Yokohama Station. Enjoy a drink while feeling the history!

Yokohama "Pork Ajitchi"

Located in Tanukikoji, near the west exit of Yokohama Station, Buta no Ajichin is a counter bar that serves delicious, unique pork innards dishes reminiscent of Taiwanese cuisine. The pork innards, dipped in a sauce made from vinegar, mustard, and chili oil, are addictive.

Makuhari Messe

Another option would be to take the Keiyo Line to Kaihin Makuhari Station or take a bus to the Sobu Line to Makuhari Hongo Station.

Tsudanuma "West Forest"

Heading towards Tokyo from Makuhari Hongo to Tsudanuma, there is a Masuyama-style restaurant called Nishimori, located along the train tracks. Here you can enjoy "June," a stew made with beef intestines and tofu, which has become a local Chiba dish.

Soga "Yama-chan"

From Kaihin Makuhari to Soga in the Chiba area. "Yamachan," the birthplace of "June." This unique stew contains various parts of pork, including the white part, tripe, and cartilage, and the onion on top does a great job until the very end.

Chiba "Star Anise"

"Hakkaku," a long-established restaurant in Chiba, offers two types of stewed eel: white miso stew and sweet and sour bone stew. We recommend pairing it with "Aka," a dish you won't find anywhere else. Also available at the Inage store!

All of these places serve delicious dishes other than stews, so if you're not sure where to go after an exhibition and can't find a bar, give these a try!
