Yaesu "Toriyaki Miyagawa"
Located in a corner of the Yaesu Exit business district in Tokyo, this space feels like a time travel back to the Showa era.

While tall buildings are being built one after another, Toriyaki Miyagawa has been in business for over 70 years. On the opposite side of Tokyo Station, in Marunouchi, there are many long-established bars scattered around the Yaesu side.

Let's enter the store
The first floor has an L-shaped counter and table seating, and there is also seating on the second floor.
The counter is made from a single piece of coniferous wood. We got a first-class seat in front of the display case where beautifully skewered yakitori are lined up! And the hand towels are huge!

Large bottle of beer
You can choose from Asahi, Kirin, and Sapporo. Since the draft beer is Sapporo, I chose Sapporo Black Label.

appetizer
Pickles and grated daikon radish with egg are served as appetizers. This appetizer gradually becomes more and more delicious.

Yakitori
The appetizer menu is basically yakitori only. There is no potato salad or stew! It's a simple and straightforward strong style.

Strongly salty yagen nankotsu (carrot intestines) beautifully skewered into an inverted triangle shape.
This healthy chicken bun is filled with green onions and shishito peppers, so you won't gain weight no matter how many you eat.
The Aigamo skewers are incredibly delicious with the savory flavor of fat and a strong saltiness, and the elasticity of the large duck makes them feel luxurious.
The homemade salted meatballs are beautifully presented on a plate.

Japanese rice wine
The sake is served hot from a kettle. It must be the "Nihonmori" sake, as written on the sign and shop curtain.

Additional skewers
Here we order something more. We have the appetizer as a palate cleanser. I see, it resets the stomach and prepares it for the next skewer. The appetizer really does its job here!

I see, this large towel was the perfect size to be able to wipe off the dirt on the skewers with just one hand. Here too, the plot is carefully tied up one by one.

Final soup
There is also a final dish of ochazuke (rice with tea) served with a complimentary final soup made with chicken stock and a quail egg dropped into it, with shiitake mushrooms and green onions floating comfortably in it.

The broth is extracted down to the bones, fully embodying the principle of "eating life" without waste. The flavor of the gentle ingredients seeps into your body.
word used after one has been treated (esp. used after a meal)
From the appetizer to the wet towels and the final soup, everything was carefully planned and all the plot twists were neatly resolved, so I left the restaurant feeling good. The prices weren't written on the menu, but after enjoying so much, the bill came to 4,240 yen. Don't be afraid, just eat as much as you want!
