Ikebukuro is like a hometown to me, and I've walked there many times and have many favorite restaurants, but there was one Chinese restaurant I had never been to. The restaurant has been there since 1954, long before the area north of Ikebukuro's west exit became a Chinatown several decades ago. This was my first time stepping into a place that played such a major role in Taiwan's modern history.
