Akitsu Station on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line and JR Shin-Akitsu Station are located in Higashimurayama City, Tokyo. Although both stations share the same name, they are only about a five-minute walk apart, and the shopping arcade, which is the shortest route between them, is bustling with transfer passengers morning and evening.
With this background, there are surprisingly many famous bars between the two stations, and it is even called "Hoppy Street in the West." Although this is quite local information, it is common knowledge among some drinkers, and the Akitsu-Shin-Akitsu area is a very popular drinking spot.
