KURAND Co., Ltd. began selling the "Home Aging Kit" on June 17th at its online liquor store "Kurand," which allows customers to enjoy barrel-aging whiskey at home.
This kit includes a flask-shaped, authentic mini keg (800ml) and a "new pot" (700ml) that has not yet been aged. You can pour it at home and experience the changes in the spirit with all your senses. The keg is made from American white oak that is over 100 years old, and is a handmade masterpiece that has been sun-dried and toasted and charred by skilled craftsmen.
It can be reused after one use and is compatible with not only whiskey but also shochu and sake. You can also enjoy blending it to your own taste, making it a hobby that adults can enjoy for a long time.
The early bird price is 44,800 yen (tax included), and the regular price is 49,800 yen. An additional new pot costs 9,900 yen. It will be on sale through the crowdfunding site "Claufan!" until July 15th. Shipments will be made sequentially from late August.
