Starting at 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 30th, 2025, a seminar will be held in which Mamoru Tsuchiya will explain the history and latest trends of each distillery using the book "Complete Single Malt Scotch Encyclopedia" (Shogakukan) as the text, and drink the bottles featured in the book in alphabetical order.Single Malt Marathon 13th" was held.
This time, you can enjoy Lindo's, an original whisky from the Whisky Culture Research Institute, as well as Loch Lomond and Longmorn 18 Year Old, selected by Master of Whisky Kazunori Shizutani.

What is Whiskey School?
The Whisky School is a school run by the Whisky Culture Research Institute since 2001 to teach about whiskey. It has offered small classes of 10 to 20 people, covering a wide range of topics, including whiskey production, trivia, pairing, and tasting techniques. Starting October 1, 2023, the school will open a new seminar room (Tech Hiroo Building 2F, 1-10-5 Hiroo, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) with a seating capacity of 81 people, the largest ever, and will operate as a whiskey school business.
*This seminar is open to the general public, not just bartenders and alcohol retailers.
What is the "Single Malt Marathon"?
With each revised edition of the Encyclopedia of Malt Whisky and the Encyclopedia of Blended Whisky, the legendary "Malt Marathon" and "Blended Whisky Marathon," in which participants try, or rather drink, every bottle featured in the book, have returned to the Whisky School after the COVID-19 pandemic. This time, Tsuchiya Mamoru will use the complete version of "The Encyclopedia of Single Malt Scotch" (Shogakukan), published in May 2021, as his text, and will be tasting the bottles featured in the book in alphabetical order.
This is a long-term seminar that will take place over two years and will include 20 to 25 sessions.
