I received a call from Madame in early August, and learned that Koenji Gon would be closing on September 30th. I'd been a regular customer of their omurice ever since my 2016 book, "A Taste of Pure Coffee Shops," and have eaten them countless times. Of the eight varieties, the editor accompanying me chose the cod roe omelet, while I chose the plain.
