"Fukushigi" is a brandy cask-aged brown sugar shochu produced by Asahi Shuzo, a 100-year-old brewery located on Kikaijima, the easternmost island of the Amami Islands in Kagoshima Prefecture. It is a blend of organic brown sugar shochu distilled between 2003 and 2010 from sugarcane grown on the company's own farm, then aged in brandy casks for over three years. The brandy cask and brown sugar shochu, which bring different flavors of richness and body, combine to create a complex, deep flavor.
