Kirin Beer will begin crowdfunding on June 6th for the "whisky to live with through life," and will officially launch the business once it reaches its target amount.
The whiskey will be delivered to the purchaser in seven batches at different ages: 0, 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, and 20 years after purchase. The whiskey's character varies greatly depending on the type of barrel it is aged in, the climate of the storage location, the surrounding air, and other factors. Over the long aging period, the flavor develops and becomes more complex, gaining depth.
The concept is to celebrate important anniversaries in life, such as weddings, births, starting a business, and turning 60, with whiskey that becomes more mellow with time.
