"Miss SAKE," a competition to select the best sake ambassador, has released stamps that combine representatives from each prefecture with sake terminology.
Now that there are concerns that young people are turning away from sake, they were thinking about how they could increase the opportunities for people to come into contact with the word "sake" and consider it as one of their options. They thought that by creating LINE stamps, which are used by people of a wide range of age groups, they could more easily increase the opportunities for people to become aware of sake, and so they decided to create the stamps.
There are 16 stamps in total. The stamps feature illustrations of the 2023 Miss SAKE finalists, with a touch reminiscent of cute Japanese anime and manga. With the help of AI, 2023 Miss SAKE Kotoko Yamada, who is also a UX designer, hand-drawn the illustrations and text to create the stamps.
All proceeds from the sale of stamps will be donated to sake breweries affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake.
