Saitama Prefecture is a thriving sake-producing region, boasting the fourth-largest sake shipment volume in Japan, with 31 sake breweries producing unique sake varieties. On November 5th, Japan's "traditional sake brewing" was recommended for inscription on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list, and Saitama Prefecture is stepping up its promotion of sake.
On December 1st, a special edition of the prefecture's newsletter, "Saitama News," will be published to promote the appeal of Saitama sake both within and outside the prefecture. Also on the same day, a special page will be launched on the prefecture's official tourism website, "Chokotabi Saitama," introducing sake brewery tour courses and sake diagnostics. Furthermore, Saitama sake will be promoted nationwide through PR ambassadors, tasting events, media coverage, a special page on travel booking sites, and the production of promotional videos.
