A two-hour special edition will be broadcast on New Year's Day 2026. This time, Rui-san will be visiting the tropical island of Okinawa. In 2024, traditional Japanese sake brewing, including awamori, was registered as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO, and Rui-san's plan for this episode is to "liven up Okinawa by drinking awamori at a bar!" Of course, it's not just about drinking alcohol. Visit the main hall of Shuri Castle, which was destroyed by fire in 2019, and see the new appearance of the castle after the exterior reconstruction work is completed. Also, visit a long-established awamori brewery to see the manufacturing process and secret brews. Furthermore, visit the Orion Beer factory, which was listed on the stock market this year, and enjoy freshly brewed beer!
Then, in Nakijin Village, we went to a bar where actress Machiko Ono works as a hostess. We got our first glimpse of her work as a hostess! In this conversation with Yoshida, we get a glimpse into Ono's true feelings after moving to Okinawa. The journey begins in Naha, and travels across Okinawa City, Nago City, and Nakijin Village in search of Okinawa's fine sake and island cuisine.
