Seifuku Sake Brewery

Seifuku Sake Brewery (President: Kanna Noritaka) in Miyara, Ishigaki City, will begin producing sake. They plan to take over the business from Taiseki Sake Brewery and restart sake brewing on Ishigaki Island.

They aim to start selling "Japan's Southernmost Sake" using ingredients from the island in the summer of 2026. Ishigaki Island is a rice-growing region, and is considered ideal for sake brewing as it has an abundance of soft water that supports rice cultivation. They aim to use rice from Ishigaki Island to create a dry sake that is suitable for chilled drinking. President Kanna has a plan to gradually increase the use of rice from Ishigaki Island, with the aim of developing agriculture and the processing industry. Construction of the factory is scheduled to begin in 2025.
