The Japan Sake Association (JSA, Head Office: Nakano-ku, Tokyo; Chairperson: Junko Kondo), a general incorporated association that holds SAKE EXPERT® qualification seminars both in Japan and overseas and issues qualifications under the philosophy of "Transforming sake from a local drink to an international drink," has begun certifying a new qualification: the "Sake Management Advisor."
Cutting-edge! A new qualification for learning about "alcohol and health"
The sober-curious lifestyle, where people "choose not to drink," and the diversifying drinking styles brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, are changing attitudes toward and ways of drinking alcohol. In New York, functional drinks and non-alcoholic beverages dominate the alcohol section, and non-alcoholic craft beer is now available in pubs in the UK. Furthermore, in 2024, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare announced its "Health-Conscious Drinking Guidelines."
We are now in an age where people are expected not only to enjoy alcohol but also to drink in a healthy way. The Japan Sake Association (JSA)'s "Sake Management Advisor" is a new qualification specializing in "alcohol and health" that is ahead of this global trend.
A seminar based on medical knowledge to "enjoy alcohol in good health for life"
Soshu🄬 is the ability to control your drinking voluntarily. In the online seminar to obtain the "Soshu Advisor" certification, you will learn evidence-based healthy drinking methods (such as preventing hangovers and hangovers) and key points for maintaining good health.
This seminar was designed by JSA President and lecturer, alcohol journalist Kaori Haishi, based on her insights gained from interviewing doctors over the past 10 years. It also covers the current state of alcohol consumption around the world and the risks of underage drinking, with practical content that can be put into practice and shared immediately after attending the seminar.
Perfect for differentiating yourself from alcohol-related qualifications!
The number of people obtaining qualifications in sake and wine is increasing, and many people can speak about pairing and brewing. However, there are still very few people who can speak about "alcohol and health." Acquiring the knowledge of a sake advisor will help you differentiate yourself from other people with qualifications related to alcohol.
Professionals such as pharmacists, restaurant and liquor store managers are taking the course one after another.
The first class of students included JSA-certified SAKE EXPERT holders, as well as professionals such as pharmacists and restaurant and liquor store managers. In the future, it is expected that medical and health professionals such as registered dietitians and public health nurses will also take part in the course.
