The Nikka Limited blended whisky will be released in limited quantities on Wednesday, November 5th. 4,000 bottles will be sold in Japan and 4,000 bottles will be sold overseas, for a total of 8,000 bottles.
The whisky, created by both the current and former chief blenders (Yumi Ozaki and Junji Iseki), is a blend of malts from Miyagikyo, Sendai; Yoichi, Hokkaido; Moji, Kyushu; and Satsuma Tsukasa distilleries, as well as aged whisky from Ben Nevis, Scotland. The flavor is characterized by a "fruity sweetness," a "dark chocolate-like bitterness," and a "cask-derived aroma," with a gentle peat richness and a sweet aftertaste.
The bottle design features a black bottle with a washi paper label, expressing the "profound worldview of blending" that combines a variety of raw spirits from the past to the present.
The alcohol content is 48% and the volume is 700ml. The suggested retail price in Japan is 150,000 yen excluding tax (165,000 yen including tax). It will be sold mainly in department stores, hotel bars, and authentic bars, and paid tastings are also planned at each distillery.
