In Taiki Town, Hokkaido, Takafumi Horie and others have established a whiskey manufacturing and sales company that uses only ingredients produced in the town.Taiki Cosmic Glen DistilleryThe company will build a distillery near Bansei Onsen, aiming to start production in 2025 and release the product in 2028.

Using dent corn and peat from Taiki Town and water from the clear Rekifune River, they produce whiskey made entirely from domestic ingredients, which is rare in the world. A Master of Whisky holder is also participating in the project, pursuing a unique flavor. They are currently looking for owners for the first batch of 200 barrels at 1.5 million yen per barrel.
