Drinking zero-carb alcohol does not reduce triglycerides. In fact, the pitfall of zero-carb distilled spirits such as whiskey and vodka is that they have a high alcohol content. Alcohol is a legitimate source of energy, with 7.1 kcal of energy per gram of pure alcohol (more than carbohydrates, which provide about 4 kcal per gram!). Therefore, you should be especially careful with high-alcohol drinks. Highballs are actually more likely to make you gain weight than beer.
