A long-established bar in Fuchu,Kiriya" It was originally in business in front of Fuchu Honmachi Station for 48 years, and was a "popular pub" where you could also drink inside the shop. In 2018, it was forced to relocate due to eviction, and made a fresh start in a vacant 100-year-old guesthouse. The stately storefront is just as impressive as the store before it moved. But it's not just the exterior that's cool. Wow!

Motsuyaki "Kiriya"
The interior of the first floor has been completely renovated, with a U-shaped counter that blends elegance with a casual feel, and chairs with the phases of the moon carved into the backboards surrounding the kitchen. The noren and menu are the same as before the relocation, but the furniture and fixtures are new, and you can feel the attention to detail that went into creating the atmosphere. It's captivating. You can't help but look around.

Start with Hoppy
Start with Hoppy Black!

If you're a Hoppy fan, you'll be surprised by this tumbler. That's right! The font for "Hoppy" is a little thin! The glass is thick, and when you hold it, you can feel the weight, making this an old-fashioned Hoppy tumbler.
appetizer
The appetizers were a 3-piece assortment of jellyfish cucumber, ganmo roe, and hokke (Atka mackerel). All of them are my favorites!

Hoppy immediatelyInsideI'll have another one. Sanraku Shochu!

stew
The meat is hard to distinguish because it's simmered in small pieces and pitch black, but it's actually red meat such as tripe, white innards, and cheeks. As you eat, the rich stew is complemented by the carefully selected tofu. The black Hoppy goes down so well that you'll finish it in no time.

Shikuwasa (Citrus depressa)
Since there are many Okinawan items on the menu, I couldn't help but choose the Shikuwasa Sour. And here's another shocking tumbler! It says "NEW Sour" in the same font as High Sour! I actually came here just to see this!

Yakitori
The skewers we had grilled were pork belly, meatballs, and tandoori chicken. The meatballs were topped with miso sauce, and the tandoori chicken with curry sauce. Each was delicious with its own unique flavor!

Coffee and shochu to finish off the meal
When you order coffee shochu, the chef takes out a shaved ice maker and starts crushing the ice into small pieces. He fills a mug with crushed ice and pours in the coffee shochu. It may look like it, but it's on the rocks!

That was a delicious meal (said after meals)
When I asked the proprietress and chef, "If a tumbler breaks, it's a waste, so isn't it better not to use it?", they replied, "Old tumblers don't break easily. As long as you don't drop it, you can keep using it normally."
The spirit of taking good care of things and using them for a long time, and the 100-year-old building has been carefully renovated to create a clean, pleasant and refreshing interior. It's a great place to learn! This is a great bar!
