Kaiyo Shokudo is a restaurant that is hard to incorporate into your itinerary if you don't have a car. It's a 15-minute walk south from Akamine Station, which is one stop from Naha Airport, and we arrived there in perfect condition, enjoying a pleasant stroll on a clear, crisp day before the rainy season begins.
Tomigusuku City "Marine Restaurant"

Originally a tofu shop, the restaurant opened next door in time for the Ocean Expo in 1975. Now, it offers a wide range of set meals featuring homemade tofu, and is a beloved restaurant among locals.

Start with a large bottle!
I ordered a nice large bottle of Orion beer.

When asked, "Aren't you driving?" I confidently replied, "I walked!" and the reply was, "I understand." It may seem obvious, but it's a wonderful gesture to prevent drunk driving!
Slowly simmered "Tebichi"
Lightly seasonedTebichi.

Okinawa is a hidden powerhouse of stews. With the spirit of eating everything except the "pig's cry," in addition to tebichi, there are also other dishes such as white meat soup, pork belly cartilage soup, and bone soup. In addition to pork, there is also hija soup (goat soup), and a wonderful food culture that is rooted in Okinawa that eats all the ingredients without waste.
After much deliberation, "Tofu Nbusa"
After much deliberation, I decided to order "Tofu Mumbai" from the many tofu dishes available.

The delicious homemade tofu and the sweet and savory pork belly create a perfect combination. It's so simple that you'll find yourself rhythmically eating and drinking beer one after the other!
Another bottle of beer!
A very satisfying "Thank you for the meal"
I added rice and Okinawa soba noodles and finished just when my stomach felt like it was about to burst! I wanted to lie down on the tatami mat, but that wasn't possible, so I paid the bill. It was a rare and satisfying lunch and drink experience.
There are many uphill climbs to Akamine Station, so on the way back we didn't hesitate to catch a taxi!
