Narita, Japan's gateway to the skies
It's been about 10 years since I've last had a drink in Narita. It was when I went to the Tomisato Watermelon Road Race in the neighboring town. I remember the izakaya I went to there being a really good place.
I'm pretty sure it was this way...
Oh! This store, this store!

Narita "Sawaraya"
It was definitely like this, my memory matches the reality and it feels amazing! A People's Honor Award-worthy izakaya where Nagashima-san and Funaki-san welcome you at the front of the store. It brought back memories of the same thoughts I had back then.

A wide variety of menu items
It's been so long since I last went there that I can't even remember what I ordered, but I do remember being satisfied.

The first thing they brought out was a sweetly cooked white fish appetizer. Yes, it definitely whets the appetite.
Stewed offal (440 yen)
Oh! There's stew!

A refreshing ginger stew made with pork small intestine, sometimes large intestine, and sometimes konjac. A great combination with a large bottle of Kirin Lager!

Grilled octopus skewers (330 yen)
Grilled octopus skewers are skewered after you order. The rich soy sauce flavor is absolutely delicious. Two skewers for 330 yen! This is a must-try! Great value!

Deep-fried tofu (550 yen)
The presentation is beautiful. The elegant silken tofu topped with fried eggplant makes this a great value dish. This is also great value!

hot sake
Among the many types of sake available, I ordered a hot sake called "Chomeisen (385 yen)" from Narita.

The bill
I remember drinking a lot of sake when I came here before, but today I'll just pay the bill around here. I've grown up and learned to drink in moderation.

You can drink at the counter or have a party in the tatami room, and it's an all-rounder with a wide variety of menu items. A famous bar in Narita that you'll want to bookmark! Sawara-ya!
