[Blog/Nikomi Mist] Start with a small bottle of beer! A quick Taiwanese bar, "Chinmitei" in Nishi-Ogikubo

Nishi-Ogikubo South Exit Bar District

Nishi-Ogikubo Station on the Chuo Line is a bar district that spreads out from the moment you exit the south exit of the station. With izakayas such as Yakitori Ebisu, Yoneda, and Chidori, as well as the tanmen restaurant Hatsune, which has long lines, the bar district is packed into a small space, creating a sight that is irresistible for drinkers.

Chinmitei

If the famous Yakitori Ebisu in Nishi-Ogikubo was founded in 1973,Chinmitei" is a huge establishment that was founded 10 years earlier in 1963 (Showa 38), back when trains still ran on the road. Its appearance is full of sex appeal.

There are eight seats at a well-worn red counter and a few tables. The charm of the shop lies in the father-son duo who silently carry out their assigned roles.

Start with pig's feet and bottled beer

As a greeting, we wash down the pig's trotters with bottled beer.

The pork trotters are milder than they look, and are served with a versatile garlic soy sauce. Adding homemade chili oil makes them three times more delicious!

There are large and small bottled beers, but I opted for the small one. I'll explain why later.

2-piece set

Choose two of your favorites from eight types, including pork belly and heart.

It's hard to tell, but the one on the right is cheek and the one on the left is tongue. At first, I tasted them to compare, but they were so delicious that before I knew it, I had finished eating without thinking. I may have made a mistake in my choice of cuts.

Shaoxing wine

When you come to Chinmitei, you'll want to order a Chinese alcoholic drink straight.

Since we've been eating a lot of meat, the refreshing taste of celery really hits the spot!

Finish off with rice noodles and osmanthus wine

The rice noodles that most people order are a unique dish with an addictive texture. Definitely rice noodles of the year!

Finally, slow down with a sweet osmanthus wine.

word used after one has been treated (esp. used after a meal)

This is a unique and highly recommended Taiwanese bar that you'll want to visit several times a year. It's the perfect place to find your favorite menu and drink and have a quick drink!

Ah! Finally, one more glass of Fenjiu!
