Sapporo "Shichifuku Shokudo"
Unable to bear the heat of Tokyo, I headed to Hokkaido. Located in the underground food court of the bus terminal, I found Shichifuku Shokudo, a long-established restaurant founded in 1976. What an auspicious name!

This popular restaurant has been satisfying the appetites of nearby workers with a wide variety of menu items, including fried rice and set meals. Even in the summer, you can enjoy oden while drinking during the day, and it is a well-known set meal restaurant run by two women.

Oden
Oden was popular that day, and although there were few oden ingredients and few choices, I chose daikon radish, shirataki noodles, and potatoes. The mustard is so powerful that if you underestimate it, you will burst into tears. I'll be careful!

Wow! Hokkaido potatoes are really delicious!
draft beer
They don't serve lunch on weekdays, but they do have draft beer on weekends. They also have a wide selection of sake, shochu, and a la carte dishes, so it feels like a restaurant where you can enjoy lunch.

fried rice
The signature dish that many customers order is fried rice. It's a simple dish containing only eggs, onions, and pork, but it's so delicious it will knock you out.

I don't eat fried rice all year round, so this may not be convincing, but this is the best fried rice I've had this year!
This fried rice is made simply with a wooden spatula, without shaking the pot vigorously or frying aggressively over high heat, and is simply delicious!

The radish salad is dressed with sesame dressing and comes with miso soup.
word used after one has been treated (esp. used after a meal)
A must-visit popular diner near Sapporo Station where you can drink from lunchtime.
Hokkaido is famous for countless things besides seafood, such as ramen and Genghis Khan, but who knew there was such a great hidden specialty fried rice! I'll be back! I'm jealous of those who work nearby!
