Ogikubo Station North Exit Redevelopment
While the redevelopment of the area under the Koenji overpass is a hot topic, redevelopment is also progressing steadily around the neighboring station, Ogikubo Station.
Due to the ongoing redevelopment plan at the north exit of Ogikubo Station, a number of stores in the surrounding shopping district, including the Town Seven commercial facility in front of the station, have decided to close or relocate since the end of last year.

In particular, the Ogikubo North Exit Ekimae-dori Shopping Street is lined with many long-established businesses that have been popular with the local community for many years, as well as traditional, privately owned shops that are symbolic of Ogikubo, and many people are sad to see the town's landscape changing.
