[Blog/syupo] Kurume, Jojima "Kanehiro" has been in business for half a century. A famous restaurant run by a fisherman, serving seasonal Etsu dishes and local sake

It's about an hour's ride on the Nishitetsu Railway from Tenjin, central Fukuoka. Passing through the lush countryside of the Chikugo Plain, our destination is a 20-minute bus ride from Nishitetsu Daizenji Station. Kanehiro, a long-established restaurant specializing in river fish, sits on the banks of the Chikugo River. It's a popular spot for freshwater fish, especially during the very hot season from May to mid-July.

Morikawa Sake Brewery is located right next to Nishitetsu Kurume Station and still retains the atmosphere of the Showa period. Even first-timers will be warmly welcomed at this Kurume-style corner bar. The bar culture of Kurume is yakitori (grilled chicken), but before that, be sure to stop by for a casual drink. syupo
