Reduction of strong chuhai

Like Sapporo Breweries, Asahi Breweries has also announced a policy to limit the alcohol content of future canned chuhai drinks to less than 81 TP4T, aiming for a healthy and sustainable drinking culture. This is in response to concerns about the negative health effects of so-called "strong" high-alcohol canned chuhai drinks and the trend away from alcohol among younger generations. It has been pointed out that the health risks of strong drinks are such that a 500ml can contains the equivalent of four shots of tequila, and that excessive drinking can have adverse effects on the body.

Currently, Asahi Breweries only sells one canned chuhai with an alcohol content of 8% or more, or what are known as "strong" high-alcohol canned chuhai: "Clear Cooler Strong Lemon & Lime Sour" (9% alcohol content), a collaboration product with 7-Eleven.
